It’s been too long since I last posted here on the subject of overpopulation. In the months since I last wrote the world seems to have deteriorated more and more and at an increasing rate, accelerated, no doubt, by the worsening global financial crisis, shortages of energy, escalating food prices, lack of clean drinking water, continued violence and of course “global warming”
Whilst it does seem that many learned institutions and people seem to be talking about the “population bomb” no one in power is “touching it with a ten foot pole”, or in plainer English; wanting to become involved in this political, emotional and sensitive issue. I must see if, or how I can motivate discussion by the powers that be – but where to start
In the meantime, I’m going to begin to record clippings from current media highlighting consequences of overpopulation, beginning with the one below

RABAT - The Middle East is overusing limited water resources and the amount of water available per head will halve by 2050, leading to social strains as more people quit the countryside, the World Bank said on Thursday.
With the region's population set to soar and climate change expected to cut rainfall by 20 percent by 2050, the bank is calling for urgent reform.
